KFC

I drove Jess and Em to Grand Junction to catch their flights home. Just heard from both of them and they arrived without a hitch. I ran a couple of errands before I came home and now all is quiet on the home front. I still have a lot to do this week but by the weekend I should be all caught up. I need to think of a project to keep me busy for the fall.

Picked up some KFC on the way home for Steve… I know “my bad”.  …I really need to get with the program again and cook something decent.

Seth and Berkley left today to go back to LA and then on to Hawaii for their honeymoon. I’m so happy for them, they’ll have a great, much-needed vacation. Jessica and Emily leave tomorrow and it will just be Steve and me. Oh wait, Mochi too. I will be babysitting Seth and Berkley’s dog while they are in Maui. This will either remind me that I don’t want another dog or I’ll be bringing home a pooch of my own any day. I’ll keep you posted.

We went to an early dinner at one of the only good restaurants in Meeker tonight. Just the four of us…. Steve had shrimp tacos and fish ceviche, Jess had the same, Em had a chicken and beef taco and I had shrimp Veracruz and shrimp ceviche. Many beers and margaritas were also included.

Time Out

Don’t go away. I have been completely occupied with my son’s wedding this weekend and have not had a moment to post any thing… and on top of that I have not had my camera with me. I will try to catch up tomorrow.

But tonight I did make Steve and his brother Charles a BLT.

Had a long day and some really good hamburgers with applewood smoked bacon and 5-year-old aged irish cheddar cheese.  We at the home with Jessica, Emily and Kasra (Emily’s boyfriend)  ….And again I forgot to take a picture so I’ll find some really juicy looking burger on the web to post.

Shrimp and Pasta

ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz………… Oh so tired. Still lots to do but the wedding is all coming together. More guest arrived today and the biggest bunch will arrive tomorrow, and a few on Friday. It’s hard not to be impressed with Colorado and our beautiful little valley. I think everyone will be remembering this weekend as one of their most enjoyable.

Dinner was at our house with all my family and John C. We had shrimp mixed with olive oil, garlic and chili peppers, asparagus, salad and bread.

Spicy Polish Sausage

Today I bought more groceries in one trip to the store then in the last three or four months combined. Wayco, Jessica, Emily and I went to the City Market and filled, to the brim, four carts with food. This was for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception. My biggest fear in all this is that we’ll run out of food. I’m sure though that I’ll have left over food to last a couple of more months and then some…. it was a long day.

Jessica and Emily had salads for dinner (no picture) and Steve had a couple of  Spicy Italian Sausage hot dogs. I had left over risotto and the  sausage.

Chicken Enchiladas

It was a very full day of wedding preparations, as will the rest of the week be. Guests have started to arrive. Em and Jess are here, they will be taking some of  the load off of me with all that needs to be done. We had a great dinner with my family and Berkley’s Aunt Dale, cousin Brian and friend Shane. Seth made chicken enchilada’s and spanish rice. He did a fantastic job with dinner as usual.
