Dinner Rolls

Prep for Chicken in Almond Sauce

Steve's Plate

I am amazed at how nice all the different food blog sites are out there in the world-wide web. A lot of work and thought goes into them. I don’t claim to be a “food photographer” or a “clever writer” but tonight I made more of an effort to take some nicer pictures. Also it does make a difference if you start a meal sooner than a half hour before you want to serve it. Tonight I tried something new. It was a chicken dish with an almond sauce. I am also amazed at how many things you can do with chicken, it’s endless. If anyone has a favorite or family recipe to share please send it my way.

Dinner is over and we’re watching “The Informant” with Matt Damon. I hope I can stay awake for the whole movie.

Veal Scallopini

Veal Scallopini

Everything is running late. We’re redoing our water system and the plumber was three hours late which made dinner three hours late…. We had veal scalloppini, sautéed mushrooms, roasted brussels sprouts and toasted almond rice pilaf. After dinner I had a nice video chat with Seth on aim. We were going over his wedding plans. The wedding industry is out of control!!!!

Pickled Veggies

Tomatoes and Scallions

I started watching the Westminster Dog Show and almost forgot to add a new post tonight. I happened to see the sporting group finals. My favorite group of dogs, especially the setters. It’s late so a quick post of our dinner… We had jambalaya with turkey kielbasa and baby shrimp.  I made cornbread and added jalapenos, bacon bits and roasted corn niblets. Topped the meal off with fresh tomatoes, scallions, pickled veggies and roasted creamed corn.

Sushi at Epcot

Seaweed Salad

Miso Soup

We spent a nice day at Epcot in Orlando. The weather was beautiful, perfect for spending the day doing something outdoors other than walking around the block. We brought Betty and checked her into the Disney Kennel Club. She got an A+ report card for her stay. This time of year the crowds are small at the parks and you can get into the attractions in no time. After walking around the lake and going to each country our vote for where to eat lunch took us back to the Japan Pavilion for sushi at the Yakitori House. We had a variety of sushi rolls, nigiri along with edamame, seaweed salad and miso soup. I can’t take credit for the food pictures this time only the one of Jessica and Betty. If you have never gone to Disney World and all their parks in Orlando it is well worth a visit.
